Stupid Dog

Mom: Leath is very stupid. I wanted to take him to Ohlone to walk. So I asked him to jump up to the car, he hesitated and looked at me like "are you crazy". So I thought maybe he is too old to jump up. I took your ramp out, ask him to walk up. He refused. so I tried to help him and push him up. He like one leg in one leg out, could not keep himself straight. after two three struggle, he gave up and run away. How difficult is this? I don't understand. Did other dog has this kind of problem? We end of walked the same old way, long one though. The one he likes the best. All the way to Old Mission Park, pass there, turn around coming back, to Mission Blvd. Boy, this old dog can really walk. How many miles this?

Mom was very excited to take the prickly pear home to eat. But she didn't know there were going to be invisible splinters and got it all over her hands and even in her eye. Disgusted, she threw it away complaining, "Not worth it!"

Mom: In the article, they mentioned Central Mountain Range. Dad and I met in one the hiking trails in March 1973. Dad also went hiking with friends in Yushan( Jade Mountain), highest mountain in south Asia before we met. I don't know you guys still remember this story. He almost fell down the mountain. That was this mountain. Taiwan mountain is very treacherous. Weather can change any time. We used to packed everything, food, pots etc. It was very hard work, but fun.

Karen: Very interesting. I think it's not the cost that would be the deterrent (2 chickens = $20, $40 in chicken feed) but the effort it takes to take care of the chickens, collect eggs and clean the coop (though I think you only need to take the poop container out and put it in your garden.)Anyway, 2 chickens produce a dozen eggs a week which is a lot. Probably should do as a hobby rather than trying to save money.

Mom: I think I go out to buy organic cage free eggs is easier.

Leath's Operation

Jenton: the vet said the radiologist is concerned that there might be a tumor on Leath's toe. She was saying that she wanted to take some chest and abdominals films of leath to make sure there's no cancer there, and if it comes up clean, they want to do surgery to remove Leath's toe. There was a bunch of other stuff that the vet said that I didn't really understand.

So I said that me and Mom would come in on Tuesday to have the Vet explain what she wants to do. I'm a bit confused though, cause I thought the radiologist would be able to tell definitively if the toe had a tumor on it, but the vet just said that the radiologist is 'concerned that it might be a tumor'. It'll be best if she tells us the information in person, and then maybe we can get the x-rays and show them to another vet. Mom, i rescheduled the vet appointment for Tuesday, 3:00pm so that I could go too.

Jenway: Yikes, will he be able to walk normally after surgery?

The big thing to worry about now is if the tumor is cancerous, and if it's spread to the rest of the body.

Mom: These are good information.I guess it is possible Leath have toe cancer. He starts with split toe nail. The cancer could be the reason he has split toe nail. It fit all the systoms the people dsecribe.

Hopefully he is in early stage, did not spread to other parts. Cutting out his toe sounds a easier thing now. Gee o wez.

Karen: when do we find the results of the films?

Mom: Tuesday. we have appointment. I think the first Ve. who took the Leath nail out should suspect the toe cancer. Sound that this is common problem for the older Lab and all the system fit. She did not say anthing, just took the nail out. So the Tuesday I am going to see Other Vet. in the same office. She is the owner and older too. She is the one we been seeing anyway.

Karen: Yeah seriously if this is a common problem, you would figure the first vet would have said something if she had to take a nail out. Stupid.

Mom: Leath is very sad tonight. He was whining on the way home which he never did. He did not move too much. did not like to put weight on his bad foot. hopefully he will feel a little better. Jenway will stay here tomorrow.

Karen: Poor Leath. We left the outside door open and he went outside and sat under mom's room and was whining a little bit. Mom outside to take him back in and petted him til he fell asleep. Boy oh boy, he looks so pathetic. He really looks like he's in pain when he walks, but he was hungry enough to get up and eat.

On a separate note, I have a gigantic pimple that's literally the size of a pencil eraser. It's a Voltron pimple in that it's a combination of a few pimples that have merged together to form a bigger, more powerful pimple.

Jenton: Subject Line: i'm still not convinced people are tsa-ing their pi gu enough

I'm still not convinced that people are wiping enough.

There's essentially 6 zones in the pi gu hole: Front, Back, Left, Right, Shallow Middle, and Deep Middle.

I'm assuming most people are just tsa-ing the shallow middle zone, and think they're clean once there's no more residue. But if you check the other 5 zones, I'm pretty sure you'll find that there's tons of stuff to still get. That's why I tsa so much!

I'll never understand how people only wipe like 2-3 times. It just doesn't make any feasible sense to me, unless they're cool with not being completely clean.

Mom: go to the Bodegabay.com website, there are a lot of accommodation choices, more than we think. Beside the campgrounds(3), there are vacation home rentat too. Karen: I already reserved 2 campgrounds that can also be used for RV hookup if we end up renting an RV. Mom says we are going to leave Fremont at noonish on Friday to go there, so plan on taking a half day at work.

Mom: Second website cannot open. camping sounds fun. I checked the weather at Bodega bay. Boy, someday the wind can go up to 36mph.The tents we have can withhold this kind of strong wind?

Karen: Among huck-drop, there are a lot of people who will lend tents, sleeping bags and sleeping pads. Even kitchen equipment. Plus me and Dan have a ton of stuff. The key to a comfy camping experience though, are the crash pads.

Jenton: We're bringing Leath, right?

Karen: he can't sleep in MY tent!

Jenton: how do you guys feel about getting a luxury vacation rental instead? Some of the houses have a hot tub, panorama views of the beaches, fully stocked kitchens (minus food), and outdoor decks with a bbq grill. if we split the cost amongst the 8-10 of us that would be going, it won't be too expensive.

Jenway: So with 10 people, it would come out to about 100 each for the weekend? Shot too nabby...

Adrienne: jonathan's recent revelation about his research project on oysters had me thinking. maybe on the way back on sunday we should stop at either hog island or tomales bay for some oysters?

Jedah: haha i actually got these oysters from hog island for free! seems like they owe bodega marine lab or something. theres about 40 sitting on the bottom of our flow through tank right now. I doubt i'll use em all but they probably won't be good for eating after 2 weeks?

We handed off Dad's Mercedes to the guy who bought the lease from us. Mercedes were terrible to us the entire time, but it's finally over. We hope the guy will love that car as much as Dad did.
